NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 27, 2025) – Porter Martin officially introduces himself to country listeners with his debut radio single, “Walking the Floor.” Written in under two hours by Porter, Philip Darrel Hooper, James Travis Dawes, and Sean Overbeeke in March 2023, the romantic ballad soars with wavering pedal steel, delicate fiddle accompaniment, and sultry vocals from the singer-songwriter.
“‘Walking the Floor’ is a timeless love song in the form of solid country gold. It was born for country radio,” Porter says.
A nostalgic return to simpler times, “Walking the Floor” is just the start for Porter. With plans to release 25 to 30 new songs in the coming year, the Alabama native aims to connect with listeners through relatable stories.
“I want you to know who I am,” Porter shares. “I’m a simple, small-town Alabama guy who loves country music, football, fishing, and hunting.”
Through heartfelt storytelling, he invites listeners to find themselves in his songs.
Porter will be available for interviews at CRS. Additional information and a full band bio are available upon request.
About Porter Martin:
Porter Martin is a country singer-songwriter whose musical journey began at age 12, inspired by performances at The Bluebird Cafe. After debuting at the iconic Nashville venue in 2014, he recalls, “It’s such a small venue, but I felt like I was playing Nissan Stadium.” Originally from Demopolis, Alabama, Porter picked up the guitar at 14 and quickly transitioned from learning Eagles songs to writing his own music. By 2007, he performed full-time, sharing stages with artists like Montgomery Gentry, Cole Swindell, Brantley Gilbert, and Dierks Bentley. He has penned songs with hit Nashville writers, including Lainey Wilson and Jordan Davis. His music showcases his traditional country roots and storytelling prowess. Porter enjoys grilling out in his free time and often has the smoker going during co-writing sessions on his farm in Ashland City.
