The first amendment was clearly crafted to protect the people from their own government and to preclude the authorities from dictating how people should think, what they could say, or what they could believe. Clear, concise and deliberately direct.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
George Orwell’s book 1984 was required reading when I attended middle-school roughly 40+ years ago. Orwell’s novel eerily peers into the future and centers on the significance of mass surveillance and repressive government overreach in futuristic 1984. The parallels to today’s America are uncanny.
Orwell goes to great lengths to describe what life would be like in the future under autocratic rule. Orwell grew up in poverty, despised Communism, and understood the perils of repressive governments. He depicted in his novels that Marxism/Communism could occur anywhere, anytime, in any place. His books serve as a reminder that democracy is certainly not bulletproof, and always a generation away from extinction.
Recently, the Biden Administration empaneled a group of progressive elitists and called them the “Disinformation Board,” much like the Ministry of Truth in Orwell’s novel. The goal, although unstated, is to suppress or quell free speech and debate. The intent is to annihilate and eviscerate anything resembling the free flow of information, in the name of national security. Controlling the narrative and free flow of information is how the Oligarchical class stays in power, it’s quite simple really.
The mere fact that we are having this conversation in America shows exactly how far this administration and the radical elements within it will go to retain power. The thought of Dept. of Homeland Security Alexander Mayorkas being placed in charge of the panel should strike fear in the hearts of everyone. The same Mayorkas that refuses to enforce federal laws at America’s southern border. The same Mayorkas that grew up in Cuba and has professed the socialist mantra repeatedly. A true wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The term “big brother is watching you” is a passage from the book and really strikes at the heart of the Disinformation Board’s mission. Try to imagine the Department of Homeland Security having unfettered access to private information. The Patriot Act already signed into law by George W. Bush in 2001 was the proverbial catalyst for a dystopian push. America’s FISA court has already proven to be corruptible or overly accessible to government requests. This explains how an American presidential candidate was able to be surveilled during the 2016 election.
Marxists have been plotting to overthrow America and the rest of the democratic world since the early 1900s. Now, the progressives and big tech have seized the moment and colluded to create the newly formed Disinformation Board. They will undoubtably be the arbiters of speech. Orwell wrote, “Who controls the past controls the future, who controls the present controls the past.”
China’s lab leak, Hunter’s laptop, or the efficacy of masking, take your pick, these truthful matters were suppressed and buried by a corrupted consortium with impunity. These are the same individuals championing the Disinformation Board.
Finally, to my patriotic brothers and sisters, please be strong and remember what’s at stake. We will decide the fate of our republic and ourselves, not some elitist despots. When the history books recite the blue-collar effort that stood in front of autocracy and protected the Bill of Rights in the 21st century, we will proudly look at one another and know that we did our part when the baton was passed to this generation.
