NEW YORK (TND) — A former regional director who claimed her company had wrongfully fired her for being white has now won $25.6 million in her lawsuit over the matter.

Shannon Phillips had worked for the company for about 13 years before she was fired after two Black men were arrested in a Philadelphia Starbucks in 2018, according to CNN. Those two men, Donte Robinson and Rashon Nelson, reportedly reached their own settlements with Starbucks shortly after their arrests.

Phillips had nothing to do with the arrests directly but was fired anyway. Her lawsuit alleged Starbucks was attempting to "punish white employees who had not been involved in the arrests, but who worked in and around the city of Philadelphia, in an effort to convince the community that it had properly responded to the incident," according to the Associated Press.
