SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — According to a new report from Snohomish County, the unhoused population is at its highest it's been since 2012 and has increased 8.5% over the past year.

Calculated during the annual Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) count, the 2023 count identified 1,285 people in 1,028 households residing in shelters, transitional housing, or living without shelter in Snohomish County.

"I've been homeless for probably a year and a half now," Mike Huber said. "It seems like everywhere I go there are homeless people. I really don't want to be homeless, it just sort of happened."

In 2022, 1,184 people were identified as unhoused in Snohomish County.
