El Salvador, once known as the murder capital of the world, is now ranked one of the safest countries in the hemisphere. In a recent Gallup Global Safety Report, the Central American paradise is now one of the safest countries, with 88% of Salvadorians feeling safe walking alone at night. Just to be clear, this didn’t happen by accident. Most of the credit goes to President Nayib Bukele, who’s country now proudly boasts the lowest homicide rates in the Western Hemisphere.
In a bold move, El Salvador has rolled out the red carpet, or should we say barbed wire, for a select group of illegal immigrant terrorists from the United States. In an agreement between the two countries, El Salvador has graciously accepted a select assortment of terrorists, and if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also agreed to accept illegal immigrants from countries refusing to take back their own citizens.
I can just picture it, an oasis of chaos nestled snugly in Central America, where the only thing more fortified than the walls of its supermax prison are the progressive opinions outside its borders. But wait, it gets better. Thanks to a recent Supreme Court ruling, or Executive Branch affirmation, radical progressive district court judges were remined that the executive branch is the ultimate authority regarding immigration.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate El Salvador’s latest business venture. Known for its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, it’s now known for its zero-tolerance stance for the criminal element and gang culture. San Salvador, while keeping an eye on some of the country’s most dangerous residents, has restored civility to a community once deemed unsalvageable; so again, kudos to President Bukele.
Of course, democrat lawmakers are clutching their pearls, gasping at the sheer audacity of it all, but El Salvador’s supermax prison now stands as the ultimate deterrent in the Western Hemisphere. Those who raise human rights concerns, should probably take a step back for a moment. This arraignment isn’t just about housing the worst of the worst, it’s about simplifying the quagmire of illegal immigration. El Salvador is throwing America a handy solution to a self-inflicted problem, while creating an economic benefit for its economy.
Now, there’s something very satisfying about recognizing how this arraignment gives new meaning to the phrase, “getting tough on crime.” To some it may seem a bit extreme but tell that to Laken Riley’s parents or any of the other tens of thousands of victims of violent immigrant crime. Go ahead and explain your moral contempt to the family of the young lady set on fire on a New York subway by an illegal alien. This isn’t about rehabilitation, it’s about justice.
We should tip our caps to El Salvador for turning criminal conduct on its head and seizing on the moment for global notoriety. This is a critical time in our hemisphere. President Bukele subscribes to the broken window theory, which postulates that maintaining and monitoring urban environments to prevent small crimes, like theft and vandalism, can help create an atmosphere of order and lawfulness. This same theory will now apply to illegal immigration by terrorists.
Democrats have forced us to turn illegal immigration into a reality television series. Each episode, a different radical progressive judge makes a ruling overstepping its authority under the constitution, while El Salvador welcomes new customers with open armed guards. Democrats need to be reminded, they created this problem, and the Trump administration has been tasked by the voters to fix it.
