Oregon and Washington have both landed in the top 20 most stressed states in America, according to a new WalletHub study. One might argue the data offers a damning portrait of what progressive governance delivers to everyday residents. Idaho, by contrast, is sitting comfortably in the bottom half of the rankings.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across 40 key indicators of stress, spanning work, money, family, and health and safety conditions, to determine where Americans are most and least stressed.
Oregon landed at No. 10 on the most-stressed list. Washington came in at No. 16. Idaho checked in at a relatively calm No. 35.
Oregon and Washington have delivered high taxes, high costs, weak job security, and a mental health crisis their governments are ill-equipped to address. Idaho has charted a different course. The stress levels reflect the results.
