Most Americans are having a hard time buying groceries

A friend of mine asked me recently why I had gone dark on my social media and hadn’t posted much. I usually share a scripture, recipe, picture of my daughter or my pets. I throw in a smattering of my political views but all in all the content has always been light.

I try to represent my brand as an Entrepreneur/Baker/Public Speaker/ Writer.

In these last few months though I’m having a hard time focusing on anything except our world and what the heck is going on with our government.

I’m also saddened by all the loss from the last 2 hurricanes, Helene and Milton. So many people have lost everything they own including precious life. Their world is shattered. So posting something funny or cute while taking a selfie somehow seems shallow.

Or how about who the heck is running the country right now?! Who is really in charge?

Because it’s not the old man who can’t stand on his own. Complete evil and a dereliction of duty. Feels like America is going to Hell in a hand basket and some people either don’t care or have their heads stuck so deep in the sand that they have bought the lie that the economy is fine and life is statis quo.

Most Americans are having a hard time buying groceries to feed their families. Now we have to worry about if we are going into WW3? Who Knows??!!

One thing I do hold on to and know to be true is that God never lets go. Even though we have fallen down a path of destruction, God still has mercy on us. There is a remnant that is praying and being steadfast. Standing in the gap, clinging to hope that God will turn this country around and there will be better days ahead.

I want to also be that person that stands in the gap and says, Look up, God's got this.

He doesn’t forget his faithful nor does he forget us even when we aren’t.

Im looking forward to Nov 5th when the election is over and we can breath a huge sigh of relief.

Until then, Im clinging to hope and joy knowing this whole mess we are in is not a mystery to God.

I would like to encourage you to pray without ceasing for this country and our future.

We are a shining light on a hill for all the world to see. We have just lost our light in the midst of the darkness.

Here is my analogy:
We have been lost at sea tossed on the waves being battered by the storms trying to find our way home. We have gotten off course. Lots of clouds and thick fog. We aren’t able to see…

But then out of the dark shines a beacon of light. A light house stands alone beckoning us to come home.

America is the light house, a light on the hill.

It reminds me of a childhood song “This little light of mine, Im gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine , let it shine.

When we shine our light it gives everyone who sees us hope.
