SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said a man was taken into custody in connection to the disappearance of a 58-year-old woman who was last seen at T-Mobile Park during the Mariners game on March 31.
The 46-year-old man was booked into the King County jail for investigation of homicide, kidnapping and assault, the SPD announced at a press conference Thursday afternoon. Officials confirmed to KOMO News the man's name is Brett Michael Gitchel.
Gitchel has an extensive criminal history, including seven felonies and nine gross misdemeanors, according to criminal records from the Washington State Patrol. His previous convictions include taking vehicles without permission, eluding police, theft and assault.
