Just Shut Up and Take It

Imagine riding the subway to work or school, day in and day out.  Also imagine the subway being your only means of transportation throughout the city in which you reside.  This is the reality for folks in places like New York and Chicago; and most other major metropolitan cities.  Citizens in these cities rely on public transportation for all their transportation needs.

Owning a private vehicle in these cities is way too costly, and simply impractical.

However, if you are one of the elites, or part of the political class in these cities you get perks.  In that case, you get to live behind guarded walls with private security, whilst armed men drive you from place to place at your behest.  Unfortunately for the average citizen, public transportation has become the only mechanism of transport, so we are stuck with the latter.

Sadly, public transportation in most all progressive led cities has become a blood sport.  Crime, violence, and open-air drug use has risen exponentially in these cities; and the public transportation corridor has become an epicenter for depravity. Decriminalizing the criminal code and defunding the police have had a devastating impact on those dependent on public transportation.  Citizens literally take their lives into their hands every time they pass through the turnstile.

Daniel Penny, a Marine Corp Veteran found out the hard way that woke rules now apply to those looking to exit the subway or any public transportation vessel unscathed.  Penny and other straphangers were ruthlessly terrorized with physical harm recently on the local F-train in midtown Manhattan.

Eyewitnesses testified, that perpetrator Jordon Neely entered the ill-fated F-train and began to menace passengers, demanding money, or food, stating, he didn’t care if he goes back to prison, he was “going to get food or money one way or the other.”  Rather than become another victim of violent crime, Penny defended himself as Neely belligerently approached him.  He attempted to place Neely into a chokehold until cops could arrive.

Penny was quoted as saying, “he was going to kill somebody.”

Unfortunately for Neely, he died from the circumstances he orchestrated that day.  Prior to this encounter, Neely had a long rap-sheet of violent attacks on subway passengers, especially women; including an elderly woman just months before in the East Village of Lower Manhattan. In that encounter he broke her nose, orbital bone, and eye socket, for her refusal to give him money.   At the time of the incident, Neely was on probation and warrant status for his lack of compliance from his previous assault convictions on women.

As if right on cue, Al Sharpton, and his roving band of woke militants demanded the arrest of Penny, while hopping on the train tracks and shutting down the evening commute in Lower Manhattan; stranding some 30,000 would be commuters during rush hour.

The social justice message has become quite clear, you don’t have the right to defend yourselves anymore, the social justice mob is in charge now.  Once we get your guns, consider it checkmate for all of you would be self-defenders.

Just ask the gas station attendant in East New York who was charged with murder for defending himself against an armed robber.  Or perhaps the bodega worker, Jose Alba who fended off a violent robbery during his night shift and was subsequently arrested for turning the tables on the knife wielding criminal.

What about the Manhattan parking garage attendant who was shot twice by an armed intruder but managed to wrestle the gun away from the would-be killer, and neutralized the man with his own gun?

Of course, he too was charged with attempted murder by Alvin Braggs restorative justice district attorney’s office.

This is the new normal progressive democrats have promised you. So, when you hear terms like “social justice”, “cash bail reform”, or the latest perversion on words, “restorative justice”, get ready to duck and cover, and run for your lives.  If self-survival is something you covet, it’s important you heed this warning.

In New York, just like every other state in the union, American citizens have a fundamental right to defend themselves to quell an attack.  Once self-defense is raised as a defense, it must be disproven by the prosecutor.  Seems straightforward right?  According to the law, you need only be reasonably fearful that your life or the lives of others are in danger to justify the use of deadly force.

Justifiable homicide is a legal doctrine that designates a person’s home or any legally occupied space (for example, a car, train, or place of business) as a space in which that person has protections and immunities in certain circumstances to use reasonable and sometimes deadly force to defend oneself against an intruder; and be free from prosecution for the consequences of the force used.

Stand your ground laws, or what’s commonly known as the castle doctrine, lessens the duty to retreat when individuals are threatened within a confined space.  Meaning this; there is nowhere for the individual to retreat to, especially in the case of a moving train.  In Daniel Penny’s case, the simple requirement of fear and a lack of space to retreat, is all that is needed to invoke a castle doctrine defense.

That should have been the end of the inquiry.

But in case you forgot, the battle lines have clearly been redrawn.  Submit to the woke mob and become a victim or die in prison.  These are the options that exist for those tethered to public transportation in progressive led cities.  In every case mentioned, the law is abundantly clear, but that doesn’t matter to the George Soro’s subsidized prosecutors and district attorneys.

They intend on force feeding you a lethal dose of “restorative justice,” and mandating you ask for a second helping.

Thank you and God Bless you.
