EVERETT, Wash. — Hundreds of people in Snohomish County have something to be thankful for after volunteers delivered meals to seniors and people with disabilities who are not able to leave their homes.
The non-profit Homage has been delivering Thanksgiving meals to these people for more than 20 years. This year around 150 volunteers took part in preparing and delivering 630 meals to 315 different people.
“Each person that we deliver to gets a friendly visit from a volunteer. They also get the traditional Thanksgiving meal and a day of leftovers that they can reheat tomorrow,” said Leah Hammon, the nutrition director at Homage.
