SEATTLE — Seattle has a new overdose response unit to try an innovative approach to confront the drug crisis playing out on the streets.
The pilot program is an expansion of the Health One initiative run through the Seattle Fire Department, and it teams up two firefighters with a social worker to respond to overdose calls alongside traditional ambulance services.
