LACEY, Wash. — The 12-year old girl police believe started a massive fire at the former mushroom farm in Lacey will stay in juvenile detention, a judge ruled Friday afternoon.
The girl was arrested for arson, assault, and unlawful imprisonment of another minor, and police say the assault was captured on video.
Police say a witness and Snapchat photos sent to other students were able to place the girl at the vacant facility, showing her standing inside the building with a lighter in her hand and the fire already burning. It took multiple fire departments to get the fire under control Wednesday.
