Andrii Dmyterko, 46, was living in Pennsylvania at the time of the crash. He was working for 4 US Transportation Company, despite the fact that he was not fluent in English. In fact, attorneys requested that a Russian interpreter be brought to court for “effective communication.”
On May 6, Dmyterko was behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler that was caught on a dash camera, striking multiple vehicles at a busy intersection. The crash happened on Highway 43 at South Industrial Park Drive.
There was no evidence that the driver suffered a medical episode; however, court documents suggest he may have been distracted by a cell phone.
Sitting at the light was beloved Wilcox Academy coach Woodie Earl Beck III. The 53-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
Also at that intersection was a young lady trying to make her way into work at Jack’s. Ashley Marie Springer, 37, was killed instantly.
