It’s simply shocking to witness the audacity of six Democrat elected officials, all of whom swore an oath to America’s constitution but have chosen to undermine not just the commander in chief, but the very fabric of America’s military command structure.  And if there were anyone among them that should have known better, it’s Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona, a retired Captain in the United States Navy.
 
This is not just a disagreement in wording; this is a clear promotion of insubordination from within the ranks of government.  I want to break this down, because their conduct is borderline treasonous and an outright assault on the principles of loyalty and duty that our armed forces embody.  Senator Kelly, for all his boasting about his service and sacrifice, has chosen a path that attacks the foundation of our military, and its necessity for the strict adherence to the chain of command.
 
Our military operates in a very strict hierarchy, one that commands and demands respect from the ranks.  These elected officials, by sowing seeds of discord and disobedience among the troops, are opening a door that could lead to internal chaos within the military rank and file.  We expect our elected officials to uphold America’s constitution and respect the chain of command; but instead, we see a sickening display that puts political ambition over national security.  The actions of the six elected leaders are not only reckless, but they’re also profoundly treacherous. 
 
It's simply mind-boggling that someone like Senator Kelly, who has flown combat missions as a naval aviator, would forget the lessons taught to him from the battlefield.  Insubordination cannot be tolerated; it’s a destructive cancer that erodes the trust and discipline essential to military effectiveness; regardless of rank or standing.  By inciting and promoting rebellion against duly established authority, he is not honoring his past service, he’s insulting it.
 
How far have the Democrats fallen when public servants conduct themselves in this manner?  The decision to empower disobedience shows a staggering lack of judgement and a complete disregard for the overall welfare of a nation; not to mention a complete lack of respect for the integrity of the brave men and women currently serving in our nation’s military.
 
Each of these insurrectionists have a responsibility yet chose a path of shame and dishonor.  At some point they must be held accountable, not just for their words, but for their attempt to destabilize America’s military command structure.  They have made their choices quite clear, and now it’s imperative that the American people respond with the appropriate collective outrage.  Kelly and his cast of dissenters are an affront to everything the military code of conduct stands for.       
 
He and his cohort’s actions create a dangerous ambiguity that it’s acceptable to defy orders if you disagree with it.  They’ve injected uncertainty into the minds of those trained to follow orders to the letter.  This chilling precedent could result in an insidious spiral where commands are questioned on the battlefield, and the coherence of our defense system becomes compromised.
 
The American people demand elected leaders that honor their oath of office, not besmirch it.  We also require leaders who will uphold their commitments to our nation and the principles upon which our military was founded.  The only way to safeguard freedom is through respect and obedience to the commander in chief.  He or she is constitutionally given that title for a damn good reason.
