I just love watching the Democrats attempt to rally the masses. If there’s one thing they excel at, it’s dragging their radical base into a collective stupor. Their latest failed endeavor, the so-called “No Kings rallies” have proven to be nothing short of a collective flop, resembling more of a yawning contest that a vibrant political movement.
If you were expecting a powerful unifying message to rally their base, you were instead greeted by an echo chamber of gripes and grievances by the same old disgruntled sixty somethings along with the occasional blue-haired millennial, delivered with the enthusiasm of a car crash. Instead of rallying the so-called base, they delivered another giant swing and a miss at the intended target, Donald J Trump, who seems to be enjoying his highest popularity ratings thus far. It seems whatever they throw at the 47thpresident, he seems to have a trump card; pun intended.
The premise of these rallies is laughable in its irony. When you trot out a line like “no kings,” you may want to consider the fact that the last time the Democrat party had any semblance of a guiding figure was almost twenty years ago. Instead, we see a hodgepodge of candidates in urban centers vying for attention like children in a schoolyard; each one more radical than the next.
The hypocrisy wrapped up in these campaign stunts is thick enough to cut with a knife. The Democrats rail against the idea of no kings, yet here they are cultivating a mini cult of Marxists, each one louder, and angrier than the next. Their obsession with denouncing a king while perpetuating a throne of authoritarianism only serves to shine a spotlight on their own political failures. These same political figures who preach safeguarding democracy happily wade deep into the waters of elitism and privilege. The mayoral race in New York is a perfect example of exactly that.
At this point, the Democrats seems incapable of comprehending that a constant bombardment of negativity will not win favor with working class Americans. Instead of igniting passion, these rallies have become a whining chorus of the same old somber notes, evoking more apathy than animosity. It appears that this current cycle of rehashed insults and tired tropes is all they have left in them.
This should come as a surprise to no one. The latest chapter in the Democrat saga is a stunning testament of their inability to break free of radical elements from within. The “No Kings” rallies attempted to position the party as the savior against everything Trump, but instead it served as a reminder of the ineptitude of Democrat party leadership.
If these rallies are to be a precursor of what’s to come, then perhaps it’s time for the party to reevaluate their strategy, or better yet, admit that they’ve lost touch entirely with the electorate. Trump continues to pummel them on every level, despite the incessant ranting and raving by the so-called opposition party. Until they recognize the depths of their thoughtlessness, we may as well sit back and watch them continue to stumble along, delivering yet another round of the same old scripted drama.
If their intent was to drum up energy, excitement, and a rally cry against Trump, their efforts have effectively fizzled out. Instead of capturing imagination and inspiring action, they’ve presented another monotonous spectacle that leaves onlookers reaching for the snooze button.
