TEXAS TUESDAY: WATCH 'The Heart of the Defense' by Andre

Why Brody Bomar Is One of Texas’ Most Productive Linebackers

On Friday nights in Texas, defenses don’t survive without a leader in the middle.

At Argyle High School, that leader is Brody Bomar.

Standing at 6’2” and over 225 pounds, Bomar brings the physical presence college programs look for at the linebacker position. But it’s not just how he looks it’s how he produces.

And the production is undeniable.

During the 2025 season, Bomar recorded 146 total tackles, averaging 10.4 tackles per game, leading his team and placing him among the most productive linebackers in Texas high school football.

That level of consistency isn’t common. It’s elite.

Turn on the film, and the evaluation becomes clear almost immediately.

Bomar plays with high-level instincts, diagnosing plays quickly and reacting without hesitation. He fills gaps downhill with physicality, takes on blockers with discipline, and shows the ability to pursue sideline to sideline. His presence is constant whether the play is inside the box or stretching to the perimeter.

And he doesn’t come off the field.

In today’s game, linebackers are required to do more than just stop the run. They must operate in space, understand passing concepts, and communicate defensive adjustments. Bomar checks those boxes. With multiple pass breakups and consistent involvement in both run and pass defense, he shows the versatility that translates to the next level.

His impact goes beyond numbers.

Snap after snap, Bomar’s motor shows up. He pursues with urgency, finishes with authority, and sets the tone for the entire defense. That effort has resulted in recognition across the state, including First Team All-District honors, THSCA Super Elite Team selection, and TSWA First Team All-State.

And still, his recruiting profile is just beginning to take shape.

Currently holding an offer from Army West Point, and Houston Christian University, Bomar remains one of the more productive and arguably under-recruited linebackers in Texas.

But that won’t hold for long.

With verified production, ideal size, and the ability to impact the game in multiple phases, Bomar projects as a true three down linebacker at the Division I level. His ability to anchor a defense, combined with his football IQ and relentless motor, makes him a valuable asset in any system.

And he’s still ascending.

For college programs evaluating linebackers who bring consistency, toughness, and sideline-to-sideline range, the film and the numbers tell the full story:

Brody Bomar is ready.
