Who would have ever thought that the American people would need to defeat communism here at home?  It would be almost laughable if it weren’t so troublesome; America, the land of the free and home of the brave, now faces an onslaught of the very ideology that has been responsible for some of the darkest chapters in human history.  And this is the ideological star the Democrat party is hitching their wagon to. 
 
The so-called Democrat socialists of America are nothing more than communists cloaked in trendy buzzwords, wrapped in progressive platitudes.  And just to be crystal clear; socialism and communism have never worked anywhere on this planet without descending into oppression, poverty, and mass murder.  Tens of millions of lives exterminated, entire populations enslaved, economies wrecked, and government ballooning into all-encompassing tyrannies.  This is what the Democrat socialists are selling, so don’t be fooled by the velvet gloves; the iron fist still prevails, just with a fancier title.    
 
Yet here we are in the good old United States of America witnessing this alarming trend toward these failed ideologies under the guise of “social justice,” “equity and inclusion,” and other feel-good catchphrases.  It’s a slap in the face to every founding father who bled and died to create one nation under God, premised on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
 
It’s also in direct conflict with America’s Constitution, the document painstakingly crafted to protect citizens from exactly this kind of government overreach.  As we celebrate America’s 250^th year of declaring independence from tyranny, the Democrat socialists of America are busy trying to disassemble what took a quarter of a millennium to create.  This isn’t some dystopian fantasy; it’s our reality if we don’t push back hard and eradicate this malignant cancer from our societal body. 
 
The Democrat socialists advocate for a centrally planned economy where government bureaucrats decide who gets what, when, and how much.  If this sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the epitome of communism; everything owned and controlled by the state; stripping away personal property, individual liberty, and freedom of choice.  History has provided a great roadmap showing exactly where this despotic road leads.
 
So why is this ideology so alluring to some in America?  Simply put, it’s because progressive Democrats package this ideology to their ilk as something that sounds equal, fair, and compassionate.  But in reality, real equality, a true meritocracy, means everyone has equal opportunity to succeed based on their own talents, work ethic, and choices.  What the socialists propose throws merit out the window, assuming that wealth and prosperity are essentially community and government property.  It demands guilt from those that have succeeded and promises handouts to those that haven’t tried. 
 
America was forged on the principles of personal responsibility and self-determination.  Communism scoffs at these as bourgeois obstacles to the collective good.  Democrat socialists pushing for censorship, rewriting history, and dismantling traditional institutions are echoing the playbook of communist regimes that aimed to erase national identity and replace it with party loyalty.  Sadly, for today’s Democrat party, they are too cowardly to stand up to the radical fringe that has hijacked its political party.    
 
The constitution was crafted as a safeguard against precisely this sort of threat.  The separation of powers, our checks and balances, federalism, and explicit rights to speak freely and assemble are the counterpoints to this radical ideology.  But those who favor socialism or communism seek to destabilize or dismantle these basic constitutional protections; some subtly, and some openly.  Recent elections in New York, Colorado, and Maine are the most glaring examples.   
 
So, to those of you who seem to be clinging to the delusion that Democrat socialism is some plausible pathway forward, it’s time for a civics lesson.  History isn’t on your side, the facts aren’t on your side, the truth certainly isn’t on your side; and ignoring this reality is dangerously naïve.   The communist/socialist ideology has always been a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  Democrat socialists may dress it up with fancy jargon, but it’s still the same dangerous beast that must be euthanized.
