Summit Fire updates location, size, containment, evacuations, road closures

brush fire that started Friday afternoon and quickly spread into the Angeles National Forest in Southern California grew to more than 2,600 acres by Saturday morning.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report of a brush fire just before 1 p.m. on Friday. Angeles National Forest said on X that it was assisting the county fire department with a brush fire in Llano, which is located in the northeastern reaches of Los Angeles County.

The Summit Fire quickly ballooned from 600 acres to about 1,600 acres before reaching 2,271 acres, just before 6 p.m. Friday.
