Since Chicago’s ineffectual leadership insists on keeping its people tethered to violent crime, cue the Trumps administration’s curative measure, “Operation Midway Blitz.” It’s a bold initiative designed to reclaim the streets from the violent criminality that has plagued the city for far too long. As Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson sits idly by and allows the violence to manifest, the federal government has rolled up its sleeves in an effort to do what city and state leaders have simply refused to do thus far.
Illinois leaders have proven to be utterly incapable of handling the escalating violence that has gripped its streets. Under this ambitious operation, federal agents will be working round the clock in an attempt to take Chicago’s streets back from the violent street gangs that have seized it. Armed with cutting-edge intelligence and a no non-sense approach, resources have been deployed across the city, targeting known gang members, repeat offenders and criminal illegal aliens.
Of course, Democrat opposition to the operation has arisen, predictably, from the very same inept leaders who caused the chaos in the first place. These so-called leaders, more concerned with political correctness than actual public safety have condemned the initiative as “government overreach.” After years of intentional neglect, they will now have a front row seat to see what the enforcement of law actually looks like.
The statistics don’t lie; city and state leaders are directly responsible for the continued rise in violent crime and homicide rates. In 2020 alone, Chicago recorded over 770 homicides: the highest in decades. Since then, the numbers have continued to climb under their failed leadership. So, one must ask a reasonable question; should the federal government be forced to swoop in to deal with the crime in a community that has run out of options?
Chicago has proven itself powerless in handling the spiraling violence that has gripped its streets. Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritsker are far more interested in virtue signaling than stopping the daily onslaught. They could care less about effective crime fighting strategies and safe streets. They are painfully indifferent and most certainly incompetent.
In this unprecedented operation, the federal government will demonstrate its willingness to confront and dismantle the gangs that have terrorized the windy city. With collaboration of various agencies, led by Kristi Noem’s Department of Homeland Security, Chicago will become ground zero for federal law-enforcement efforts to stem the flow of violent crime in America’s cities. Streets that once echoed with gunfire will begin to enjoy the peaceful sounds of tranquility.
Federal officials are not just targeting gang leaders, they’re also hyper-focused on the illegal aliens who contribute to the ongoing crime wave. Under the Biden administration, it’s estimated that over 16 million illegals now roam America’s streets. The prioritization of arresting and deporting violent offenders, including those associated with drug trafficking and human smuggling sends a stern message; we are not codling lawbreakers anymore.
It's incredibly sad that it’s come to this, but Marxist Democrat leaders will burn their own cities to the ground simply to rule over the ashes. Operation Midway Blitz represents a critical pivot in the battle against both violent crime and illegal immigration; both of which have reached epidemic proportions. Citizens in these communities have become captives of the criminal element.
While the Democrat mayors and governors may squirm under the glare of federal scrutiny, the people of Chicago and every other American city deserve much better than what they’re receiving from the current crop of radical ideologues. We can only hope that federal officials send a strong enough message that neither the mayors nor governors can ignore going forward. It’s certainly not unreasonable for American citizens to expect some semblance of safe streets in their communities.
