A new University of Massachusetts Lowell poll has found that Dolly Parton is the most beloved figure in the country.
The music icon easily, who has a net favorability of +65, topped the list of favorable public figures in the nation, including former president Barack Obama and pop star Taylor Swift. The "Jolene" singer came in at 50 points higher than Obama and 62 points higher than Swift.

It's also worth noting that UMass Lowell is a reputable pollster, as renowned statistician Nate Silver granted them an A- rating back in January.
Earlier this year, the state of Tennessee celebrated the music legend's 80th birthday on January 19, with numerous events and even an official "Dolly Parton Day" designation. In February, Parton teamed up with East Tennessee Children's Hospital to officially open the Dolly Parton Children's Hospital.
According to a press release shared at the time, the independent, not-for-profit hospital has "delivered transformative and expert pediatric care" for nearly a century. Parton grew up in the region near the hospital, defined as an area "where neighbors show up for one another and roots run deep."
