A Nebraska woman was one of 39 people pardoned Thursday by President Joe Biden for nonviolent offenses.
Lora Wood, from Maxwell, pleaded guilty to a nonviolent drug offense when she was 19 years old, officials said.
Wood, now 39, has "maintained steady employment and is an engaged parent," the White House said in a statement.
"She has spent time volunteering with animal welfare and canine therapy service organizations and has organized food drives and fundraisers. Ms. Wood has been praised for her work ethic, devotion to her children, and volunteer endeavors," the White House said in a statement.
Wood pleaded guilty to meth possession with intent to distribute in 2004.
