The five-time Entertainer of the Year shared more details with his crowd in Greenville, South Carolina. A fan-recorded video shared on TikTok showed Bryan telling the audience “three weeks ago, I got COVID.” Some concertgoers appeared to give a sympathetic “aw,” and others “booed.” Bryan said “you can ‘boo’ that sh*t all you want, but I got it. And I had to cancel some shows, and now I’m back.
“But I am not 100% because it’s still kicking my a**. And you know what? I don’t give a sh*t,” he continued. “When I can sing, I’m gonna sing, and when I can’t, y’all are gonna sing, alright? And you’re gonna see me hack. I can’t take any more medicine. I can’t do anything else but just try to breathe. Anyway, we’re gonna have fun tonight. We’re gonna make the most of it.”
Bryan shared earlier this month that “it really, really gets frustrating getting sick like that and losing my voice and having to take a couple weekends off.” He thanked his fans for their support, and thanked fellow country star Eric Church for stepping in last-minute to perform for Bryan at a few festivals in late June.
