Leadership for the Family Guidance Center is staying silent after the online presence of a Montgomery City- and County-funded anti-violence initiative was silently erased after two men associated with the program were charged with drug trafficking and distribution.
1819 News initially reported that Patrick O'Neal Perry, 32, of Montgomery, was arrested by the Alabama Department of Corrections last week and charged with trafficking marijuana, as part of an investigation into contraband connected to Fountain Correctional Facility.
1819 News later revealed that Daniel Lamar Hatcher was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine shortly before. Both men frequently appeared on the social media page Save Our Streets - MGM (SOS). SOS touted itself as the social media page for the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Program, which is funded by the City of Montgomery and Montgomery County. The CVI Program operates under the Montgomery-based nonprofit organization Family Guidance Center (FGC).
Since the arrests, the SOS Facebook page removed all photos of the two men wearing its attire and participating in events. The CVI Program website was also quietly removed.
