Given how many good conservatives voted against this, Undesireable Carpetbagger @uncontrolledopposition and host of the Uncontrolled Opposition Podcast on Substack & Locals.com. reached out to Tennessee Congressman John Rose for comment
"I am in favor of more oversight of government spending. But, it would be a mistake to throw away due process by releasing claims that haven’t yet been investigated or have been found to be unsubstantiated.
And frankly, the promise of confidentiality is the only reason many victims feel comfortable reporting workplace harassment. We can’t compromise that.
The conservatives who opposed this resolution myself included, along with Mike Collins, Mark Harris, Andy Harris, Jim Jordan, Barry Loudermilk, Mary Miller, and Troy Nehls—we didn’t oppose the idea. We opposed the execution."
“It’s shameful,” Mace said in an interview after the vote. She separately posted to X, “Both parties colluded today to protect predators. ... The establishment always protects itself, never the victims.”
