Fatherless, faithless, and foundationless

Would you be surprised to know that the United States leads the world in fatherless homes? Past generations of Americans have always relied on family values and traditions to enrich ourselves in perpetuity. Sadly, the fatherless trend is growing, much to the detriment of America’s prosperity. As we eclipse Father’s Day in America, it’s important to try and dissect the sad reality facing many of America’s households, and the growing assault on America’s nuclear family.

The sociological evidence obtained over the last 30 years has confirmed that the secular cultural elites have been wrong, and tragically so. Marriage and family, while by no means perfect, is by far the best environment to raise children. When you add religious conviction to the formula, the odds of success increase exponentially in the nuclear child’s favor.

We must start to bridge the divide of fatherless homes if we hope to salvage many of today’s lost or troubled progenies.

About 18.5 million children in the United States currently do not have a father or male role model in their homes. This leads to increased alcohol and drug abuse, being twice as likely to commit suicide, a lack of academic performance, economic disparities, and an inability of male coping skills in today’s ever-changing society. Roughly 80% of all single parent homes are led by single mothers. Most of these moms have a tough enough time simply making ends meet, rather than trying to fill both parental roles. No wonder why some say being a mom is the toughest job on the planet.

Faith and family have always been the pillars of American culture, the foundation on which America was built. Children rely on a balance of male and female contributions from both parents to establish stability in the home; and give them foundational direction in life. Unfortunately, two parent homes are becoming scarce in many communities at the expense of child development. America’s nuclear family is under constant vicious attack by the Marxist movement in America.

For over 30 years, the rise in violent crime parallels the rise in families without fathers. Additionally, children in fatherless homes are five times more likely to commit crime and be poor, nine times more likely to drop out of school and 20 times more likely to end up incarcerated.

Some of the disparities get even worse, 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes; and they are more likely to be physically, mentally, and sexually abused; and have severe emotional trauma throughout their lives.

Girls that grow up in fatherless homes have a 100% higher risk of suffering from obesity and depression; and teen girls that grow up in fatherless homes are four times more likely to become mothers before the age of twenty, according to an NPR study.

The evidence is irrefutable that a two-parent household led by two loving married parents remains the most stable and nurturing environment for raising children. Children are much more likely to thrive and survive; and live happy and successful lives in a two-parent home. Family corresponds to the Bible, and in the Bible, we learn that family is not a social construct, but is something grounded in the order of creation. Therefore, the Marxist movement seeks to extinguish both religion and family.

May God bless all of you, Vincent
