SEATTLE — Seattle Council member Sara Nelson verbally attacked her council colleague Tammy Morales in a morning press conference, highlighting the public safety issues in her district, and contending that she needs to be voted out to improve it.
It was a stark and unusually strong comment by one council colleague about another in what was a loosely disguised campaign event for Morales’ challenger Tanya Woo.
It also signaled the City Council campaign, at least in this district, is going to weigh heavily on public safety issues, after a recent string of mass shootings, home invasion robberies, and the open-air drug market in the Little Saigon neighborhood.
