Arkansas State Police say 42 suspects arrested in crimes against children sweep

An agency release Friday said 42 suspects were arrested during its recent Operation Cyber Highway Safety Check operation. Beginning March 10 through the end of May, the operation made arrests related to child sex abuse material and failure to comply with registration requirements, including nine individuals arrested for hands-on offenses, officials said.
 

Investigators said five children were rescued from ongoing sexual abuse and 22 children were identified as new victims.

Officials tallied 178 search warrants executed and over 1,600 home visits with registered sex offenders during the operation. Members of the ASP’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force started 160 investigations and have submitted 63 cases for prosecution to state and federal courts.
