I keep scratching my head, thinking that I’ve seen this vitriolic mob scene play out on college campuses before. Was it 1930s Germany, or 1950s China? Perhaps it was America in the 1960s or a Spike Lee flick. In either case, these inexcusable scenes continue to play out on America’s college campuses to the mortification of a nation.
Prestigious universities that were regarded as havens for inquisitive young minds, and for cultural enrichment, have been turned into fundamentalist propaganda factories for the debasement and radicalization of young minds.
Axioms like, those that don’t understand history are doomed to repeat it, ring especially true for the ignorant intellectual on today’s college campuses; both young and old. In most common circles, they’re simply known as useful idiots that rove from place to place, blaming and shaming things that offend them, while casting judgment on American culture and its historical past.
Regrettably, this is how much of academia spends the better part of its days.
When their newest victim is chosen (in this case Jews) by the woke Marxist mob, very few will stand up for fear of being cancelled or targeted themselves. We should have seen this coming when they tried to cancel entire classes of people (white American boys) and entire genders (American girls and women) in a perverse amalgam of equity and inclusion.
They demand name changes of buildings they don’t own, tearing down of monuments and statues in recompence for perceived injustices they’ve never had to endure, continuously moving like swarms of locusts, ravaging, and scavenging everything in their path, with a carnivorous appetite that feverishly devastates any landscape.
It’s only fitting for modern day academia that aggressors are the victims, and victims are the villains. This is the mantra they’ve peddled ad nauseum, radical Islam good, Jewish oppressors bad. This has been bolstered in the higher learning institutions by radical tenured educators as we now see it feverishly manifest on America’s college campuses.
It’s appalling to witness this tribalistic toxic elixir that has engulfed America’s higher learning institutions. The leftist intellectuals have taken woke cancel culture to a new antisemitic low, if that is even possible. They’ve hijacked the word genocide by equating the death of millions of Jews, to a moral equivalence in response to Palestinian grievances. To call it repugnant is sugar coating it.
In a recent poll, a majority of Gen Z (51%) believe the acts committed by Hamas on October 7 are a circumstance where the end justifies the means. Creating a paradigm of sanctioned barbarism in exchange for their ethical preeminence; along with their self-professed moral superiority.
This rise of antisemitism is both shocking and expected to some degree. The secular left is ostensibly compared to fascists, and with good reason. They possess the same radical and propogandist characteristics; and seek to supplant societal truths for human exploitation.
According to FBI director Christopher Wray, “Antisemitism is at a near historic level,” while Senate ranking majority member Chuck Schumer called it, “A five alarm fire that must be extinguished.” Sadly, today’s Jew hating bigots are no longer subtle, as their unapologetic bigotry is laid out for all the world to see on collegian picket lines.
Congratulations academia, you’ve created a generation of blood-thirsty neo-fascists under the guise of diverse enlightenment. Chalk up another Hitleresque moment for academia in America. The pain you’ve inflicted on an entire culture will only compound with historical trauma that already exists.
